PIONEERS GRANTS

Answering the Call of Those in Need Grant
Explanation of Award:
Pioneers have been Answering the Call of Those in Need for over 100 years. Our members take great pride in this legacy. As a result, we often receive bequests upon a Pioneer’s passing. The funds we receive from bequests are what make up the Answering the Call of Those in Need Grant. While some of these funds are unrestricted, others may be designated for a certain Pioneers’ program. These funds are distributed accordingly through the grant process.

Explanation of Award:
The E. B. Dodd’s Fund was established in 1983.  The money was left to the Telephone Pioneers (dba Pioneers, a Volunteer Network) by Earl B. Dodd’s, who stipulated in his will that the bequest be used by the Association Executive Committee in the promotion of community service activities by telephone employees, active and retired. $40,000 is distributed annually and 2016 is the final year for this distribution.
